Alteri

Two Alteri walking through a busy night market beneath Haelrahv's moons

Physical description

Alteri stand roughly four to five and a half feet tall. Their elongated, almond-shaped heads bear oversized black eyes, and their slender limbs give them a naturally dexterous, agile appearance. They have neither facial nor body hair, and their pale green-to-grey complexions may carry spots or other markings.

Society and other peoples

Family and friendship are central to Alteri life, with close friends commonly welcomed as family. Their society places little weight on formality or status. Playful and energetic, Alteri can sustain several conversations at once and readily invite others into them.

Their openness usually makes the Alteri approachable. Their speed of thought and communication can overwhelm outsiders, but they often make patient guides through difficult ideas. Early Human fears born from old alien legends largely faded as the two peoples came to know one another.

The world and belief

Alteri communities favor lively, secure gathering places over solitary exploration. Art, music, magic, psionics, and technology all have respected places in their culture; Virtuoso and Wargale remain important expressions of those traditions.

The Alteri honor the Loshei, muse-like goddesses associated with the arts, together with Sal'Veclav, the Sun God. Family tradition and a patron muse often shape the discipline an Alteri pursues through life.
