Eolai

Physical description

Eolai resemble Humans, but are usually fair or pale, lightly built, and strikingly graceful. Most stand between five and six and a half feet tall. Their movements are quick and fluid, and their voices are known for clarity and an often soothing quality.

Society and other peoples

Eolai society is highly structured, and position may carry more weight than family ties. Eolai commonly believe that their people bear a special responsibility to guide and protect the other races.

That certainty can be perceived as arrogance or condescension, and relations with other peoples are sometimes strained as a result. Eolai rarely seek conflict without cause, but respond fiercely when they believe their dignity or authority has been denied.

The world and belief

The Eolai consider themselves caretakers of Haelrahv. They are accomplished trackers and enthusiastic travelers, though their journeys more often serve stewardship than colonization.

Haelrahv itself stands at the center of Eolai spiritual thought. Four elder gods are associated with twilight, land, sea, and air, while numerous lesser gods are remembered as ancestors of Eolai lineages. Worship is generally personal rather than public.
